Sundanese Muslim Community's Understanding of Sufism: A Phenomenological Approach

This study examined the Sundanese ethnic understanding of Sufism and its implications in social life. The research approach is a phenomenological scientific paradigm religious studies, which descriptive qualitative empirical uses grounded methods. data comes from Muslim leaders, cultural figures, academic figures. finds that according to Islamic development every society's thoughts, attitudes, practices dealing with problems modernity. Also, form penetration local wisdom into religion. also suggests elements influence esoteric religion based on whether or still preserved traditions modern society, for example, first, practice ritual South Coast ethnicity. coastal area very thick early process entry Islam.
